For this project, I was interested in recording how each Father related to or interacted to his pre-teen sons; boys still undefined.

I requested the Fathers to bring their sons dressed however they wished to be photographed.

I created a defined but empty space with no chairs or other props. I asked each Father to step into the space with his son(s) and to stand, sit, or interact in any way he felt appropriate.

Even without the camera, it was possible to tell that some Fathers were close to their sons, and some were distant. In some cases the sons took charge. In other instances, their Father had definite ideas about how they should pose.
